"And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, He will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? So don't worry about these things, saying, "What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?" These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs." Matthew 6:30-32

 I had the opportunity to speak about my Dare2Share experience at the Berean Church in my town on the 22nd. Below is the updated version of my short speech. :)

                                   Finally getting out of the "huddle"
 One of the subjects the speakers at Dare2Share spoke about was how Christians really like the huddle. You know, we go to youth group and get all fired up about Jesus. We don't feel awkward because we are surrounded by Christian teens like us. It gets awkward when you walk around a store trying to get the courage to talk with someone you don't know about Jesus. It sounded a LOT easier in youth group! But who said it would be easy? I want to stretch my faith in Jesus, and not be constantly stuck in the huddle.

                                     I am wonderfully blessed! We have an awesome God.
My braces were put on 3/21/12. Thank you Jesus! Now let's see if I'll be able to sing in the Easter choir without lisping. =)

                                  What our pop culture says about religions.
 My definition of Jesus Freak is something like this: a person who loves Jesus so much that they are willing to do anything that He tells them to do. Anything! Even if they end up looking kinda freaky. It's only "freaky" according to the world standards.
 Freaky is the new cool. What is cool anyway? Wearing low baggy pants? Listening to the latest music with the nastiest lyrics? Having the coolest clothes? Being popular? That's "cool" according to the world's standards but freaky is what I describe it. I feel like yelling, "Pull your pants up, dude!"
 So maybe I should have lived back then. The 1700s would be cool… but  since I wasn't born back then that means God has a plan for me in this time. I could be more influential now than then because it was more of a Christian based nation then, and not so much now. There are a lot of Christians in the world! You just never hear about amazing things that God has orchestrated on the News or the homepage of yahoo. It's always about the latest school shooting, kidnapping, or the most beautiful woman today…etc.
 The point: God is working in the lives of His people, but it's not advertised. Why? Because in 1962-63, the government decided to veto the act of public religious (Christianity) activity. No more will you see the ten commandments hanging in a public school, it's considered unconstitutional. The students might read it and apply it to their lives. Or students praying, (silently too) is also unconstitutional. The government and our pop culture wants us to think that America does not have a Godly heritage, and that our Founding Fathers were not Christians, and that they believed religion (back then meaning Christianity) should not be expressed freely. So what did they do in 1962-63? They took documents written by the Founding Fathers and twisted it. Thomas Jefferson's private letter to a friend is a major example of this. This letter is now called, Separation of Church and State. Jefferson was saying in his letter that religion (Christianity) would be protected by the government. It was twisted, and today only that specific part is read in the opposite manner in which Mr. Jefferson intended. It is not protected today, it is in fact looked down on. Other "religions" such as, Atheism, agnosticism, hinduism, Islamism…etc are protected.
 America does have a Godly heritage. It is evident in our history. "The cause of America is in a great measure the cause of all mankind. Where, say some, is the king of America? I'll tell you, friend, He reigns above." -Thomas Paine.

                 Insight about what the Bible says about speaking in tongues
 The gift of speaking in tongues is a gift from God. I don't believe everyone has that gift, that's why it's called a GIFT. I have a relationship with Jesus yet I don't speak in tongues. Some of the most influential Godly people I know don't speak in tongues, yet they are baptized in the Spirit and live their lives for Him. My sister and I were curious about this, so we looked it up in the Bible in 1 Corinthians chapter 14. Speaking in tongues isn't something you show off and teach others to do. It's something between you and God. If He wants you to speak in tongues He will give you the gift. 1 Corinthians 14:2, 14:28. I'm not saying that speaking in tongues is wrong, it is in the Bible, but it is not something you proclaim loudly when you don't have an interpreter. God looks at the heart and motives, and if we are truly following Him we will follow His commands found in the Bible. 1 Corinthians 14:37-38.

 I am absolutely amazed at my Father's love! My heart aches when I think about people who don't know Him. Life is worth nothing without Him in it. He created us and loves us. He loved me when I didn't love Him, and gave me a second Chance to come to Him.
God is my strength and power, and He makes my way perfect.2 Samuel 22:33

                                             ~You Gotta Have Faith~
 You gotta have faith about things. Like believing God will look after you, and will most definitely supply you with the things He knows is best for you. Having faith and believing even when you aren't sure.
 Why am I writing about this? Well, I need braces. Not just because I have crooked teeth from sucking my thumb when I was younger, but because something isn't right with my jaw, and I need braces and head gear to kinda straighten it all out. It isn't life threatening, but it will probably get worse as I get older. Braces cost a lot! And it's not like money grows on trees. The first thing I said when I heard about this was "God will supply what I need." He always has and He always will if it is His will. So I prayed. Yesterday my mom told me that the insurance company got back with the dentist. I am getting braces! I don't know when, but God supplied what I needed. He always has. Sometimes I want things but don't get them because it wasn't God's will. I wanted to go to Mexico with my Church friends. I didn't go because my dad said it was way too dangerous over there right now. I was angry at first, but realized later on that it was God's will. My dad was protecting me just like God does. He knows what's best for me and my life right now. But I get to look forward to going to Chicago in April for a youth event with my fabulous youth group. I don't know what the future holds, but I gotta have faith that God is with me and that my life is in His hands. He knows my future.

                                     ~Dare2Share~
Hey there! We are going to be going to Chicago in April for an event called, Dare2Share. Along with our youth group. We could really use your prayers! This is the first time I have gone to something like this, so you can imagine how excited I am about it. We all are. :)
Please be praying for this ministry for young adults, and that it will bless many people as they hear about Jesus Christ.
Pray that teens today will be on fire for Jesus, and be shining examples of true believers.
Pray that we will raise the money that is needed for going on this life changing trip.
Pray that we will arrive there safety.
Thank you very much! God bless.

Psalm 62: 5-8
5 Yes, my soul, find rest in God;    my hope comes from him. 6 Truly he is my rock and my salvation;    he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. 7 My salvation and my honor depend on God;    he is my mighty rock, my refuge. 8 Trust in him at all times, you people;    pour out your hearts to him,    for God is our refuge.
December 22, 2011                                                       Older posts I've written  #1                                             He is the LIGHT of the world I Went on a bike ride to one of my favorite spots in Glencoe, the foot bridge over 212. Recently some kids spray-painted graffiti all over it, and I'm not going to mention how disgusting and disturbing it is, so you know that I am not over exaggerating in what I'm saying. So now I go there every day and stop and pray for those troubled people, probably teenagers my age which makes me very sad because they are part of the future generation. Most of the graffiti is on the side of the bridge where there is hardly any light, and trees surround it. It's very much like John 3:19-21. The light has come into the world, and people who do evil things are judged guilty because they love the dark more than the light. People who do evil hate the light and won't come to the light, because it clearly shows what they have done. But everyone who lives by the truth will come to the light, because they want others to know that God is really the one doing what they do. Be the light. Live your life for Jesus, and follow Him. "But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day." Proverbs 4:18 "Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”" John 8:12

The world's fitting in rules:
1. Being skinny is the best thing since sliced bread, you want to feel beautiful and accepted…never mind the fact that you are ruining yourself to be "like everyone else," who needs food anyway??
The side effects: Depression, eating disorders, hopelessness...
2. Want to fit in better with the super popular crowd at school and make friends? Time to take acting lessons on how to be accepted by the cool kids.
Side effects: You forget who you really are...
3. Don't forget about finding the perfect boyfriend! You'll fit in better if you have someone who will do anything you ask. You aren't complete without him.
Side effects: You end up giving away part of your heart prematurely...
God's fitting in rules:
1. Romans 15:7
Accept each other just as Christ has accepted you: then God will be glorified.
  1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
1 Peter 3:4
You should be known for the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.
Prize: You will be able to stand up against the devils schemes, your days will be filled with hope and praise, and you will feel beautiful.
2. 1 Timothy 4:12
Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you teach, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.
Proverbs 17:17
A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.
Prize: True friends love you the way you are, you don't have to wear a mask.
3. Matthew 28:20
I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
Ephesians 2:19
You are members of God's family.
Psalm 39:7
Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you.
1 John 3:3
All who believe this will keep themselves pure, just as Christ is pure.
Prize: No heartache, a wonderful future without any regrets.
Lord help me to be in Your holy will;
Tell me what to do today;
Lead me in Your righteousness;
Make me more like You, I pray.
Guard me against this corrupting world,
Its perverted priorities, temptations, too.
Direct my mind toward Your commands,
So I can focus my life on You.
Fill my heart with Your light and love,
So I can assist those I see in need;
With You as my role model, let me be
Like You in thought and word and deed.

December 14, 2011 "Jesus, I stand for You No matter what You lead me through They will chase me out, and close me down But Jesus, I stand for You I'll always stand For You I'll always stand For You Jesus, I've stood my ground When unbelief was all around I have felt the sting rejection brings But Jesus, I still stand for You. I'll always stand For You I'll always stand For You A time will come when everyone Will turn their eyes on the risen son Until that day, this world will turn away So I'll take your hand, I'll always stand for You Guilty of disgrace, but You took my place Jesus, I'll always stand for You. I'll always stand
For You I'll always stand For You I'll always stand for You" -Tree63 I stand for You Think it's about time for those who Believe to stand up for Him? I do.
